Little Brother is here :)

Happy happy happy am I
Dear “Gilmore girls”,
I started watching you again for the third time and you never disappoint. But to be honest, I’m still a little miffed about the ending of the revival. I won’t spoil it here, but it sure was a cliffhanger and now I’m thinking we need another revival to satiate us.
Dear Quote,
The other day I heard, “No one hangs hard times on the wall.” That really spoke to me for some reason. It is so easy to assume everyone is fairing better than you at any given moment, but the truth is we are all dealing with the sadness and pain of life. You are never alone in hardship, ever.
Dear Paddle Board,
I enjoyed taking you out for a spin on the lake last night. But all those jet skiers were zipping around me making the water choppy and I had a hard time getting much of anywhere.
Dear Texas,
You sure are hot during the summer. Boy, just when I think it can’t get any hotter, it does! Maybe I’m a California weather wimp, but I still am not used to it.
Dear Coffee,
Just reminding you how much I love you. Never forget.
Dear “The Lilac Girls”,
Just started this new book and am already a fourth of the way through. Historical fiction is my jam.
Dear Germany,
Are you as excited as I am for my return on August 23rd? I sure hope so, cuz I can’t hardly think of anything else!
P.s. Photo from our time in Bar Harbor, Maine 🙂
P.s. Photo from here
Dear Christmas break,
You’re over already?! Just when I was really settling into a routine of laziness, you decide to end. Thanks for being great while you lasted though 🙂
Dear second semester,
I have a love/hate relationship with you. On the one hand, I am looking forward to spending time with my friends in beautiful Malibu, but on the other hand I have AWFUL senioritis.
Dear La La Land,
You left me speechless! I am proud to be from Los Angeles. It was so fun to see Emma Stone and Ryan Goseling dancing and singing their way around my city.
Dear computer,
I think I need to replace you. Sorry, but you’re just too slow.
Dear future,
Youre simultaneously liberating and terrifying.
Dear Turkey,
Personally I find you dry. Sorry, I just can’t get on the turkey train. Does that make me un-American?
Dear “The Great Gatsby”,
I am reading you for the fourth time right now. And honestly, you just keep getting better and better. It’s no wonder you’re a classic. You deserve the title old sport.
Dear Wall Family,
Thanks for taking me in this Thanksgiving. You are my adopted family for sure! I feel so at home with you 🙂
Dear Parents,
I hope you’re having fun galavanting around Europe for your work conference. The pictures and texts suggest you’re soaking up every second of it. Can you take me in your suitcase next time please?
Dear Gilmore girls,
Friday can’t come soon enough. Thank you for making four new episodes, you are golden.
Dear Coffee,
Still love you long time, never forget.
Dear H&M Jeans,
I wear you approximately four times per week. At least. You are fraying at the seams and your holes are ripping so wide they’re almost not fashionable anymore. But I love you dearly and can’t imagine life without you. Never leave me. I’ve peaked in the jean department, it’s all down hill from here.
P.s. a few photos from my ‘secret’ Instagram account
Every Tuesday and Wednesday morning, I babysit two little munchkins named Winnie and Piper. Winnie is two and Piper is three, and they continually surprise me with their humor and unending joy for life. Honestly, if you’re feeling down in the dumps, I would suggest spending some time with little kids! They are hilarious. I just want to bottle up their enthusiasm and take it home with me. Below are a few photos from our time together yesterday.
Me: What are you doing Winnie?
Winnie: I’m reading this book of course.Me: Winnie can I read that book with you?
Winnie: No, Micah, I don’t think so.Winnie: Can I take pictures of you?
Me: (Hesitantly) Sure…Winnie: Oh my, I need to cook you some food! How about cucumber?
Lazarus the cat has a love hate relationship with Winnie, who is ultra affectionate (and sometimes picks him up the wrong way) :p
We headed down to main campus to explore. Always good to get out of the house and have an adventure.
Piper: It smells like Christmas!
Winnie and Piper climbing on the George Pepperdine statue (the founder of the university)
Piper: Why won’t he turn the page of his book?
Me: He’s a statue, he can’t^Probably my favorite photo of the day!
Winnie: Look at all the Dori and Nemo fishies!
Me: What do you want for Christmas Winnie?
Winnie: PinkWhat’s you favorite thing about Christmas Piper?
Piper: GrandmaHave a great one friends!
Dear Legs,
Do I have to shave you so often? Can we all just agree that women’s legs are perfectly natural and beautiful with hair on them? That would be great, thanks.
Dear “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”,
Although you are a classic, I am just now watching you. Audrey Hepburn is as lovely as everyone makes her out to be, especially where fashion sense is concerned.
Dear “Still”,
You are a great song. I discovered you during the finale of New Girl and can’t stop listening to you on repeat. My house mate probably thinks I’ve finally lost it.
Dear school,
We’ve been together a long time. Seventeen years to be exact. Our relationship is complicated to say the least. Love-hate doesn’t even come close to describing it! Maybe I’ll like you more after my english exam is over.
Dear candles,
Thanks for existing, you really add a little something-something to my room this time of year when the sun sets so early.
Dear Short Story,
I am surprisingly proud of you. You turned out quite well. Some stories never take off, but I couldn’t stop writing you until you were complete.
Dear Jessica,
Thanks for being my friend soul mate.
Dear Halloween,
You will be here before we know it. Personally I find college kind of an awkward time to celebrate because I’m not a kid anymore but I also don’t have kids of my own yet to enjoy you with. I also have class that night…
Dear Fall,
Can’t you visit SoCal, even just for a little? Summer doesn’t seem to want to leave but I’m eagerly awaiting your arrival. My scarves are bored just hanging limp in my closet!
Dear Polaroid,
Why do you take such over-exposed pictures sometimes? I’m always disappointed when I wait and wait but you never develop properly. Your film is much too expensive for these games!
Dear Blog,
I love you. I never thought I could grow so attached to a non-existent ‘place’ in cyber space. It’s so fun to look back in time and reflect on all the places I’ve seen and things I’ve experienced over the last three years.
Dear Graduation,
I simultaneously can’t wait for you to come and am dreading your arrival. Lots of weird, mixed emotions over here…
Dear Parents,
Thanks for visiting me this week and taking me out to breakfast! I can’t wait to spend the first weekend in November with you in Texas.
Dear Coffee,
You sustain me. I don’t know what I’d do with out you sweet, dark one.
Dear “New Girl,”
Season 5 on Netflix is cracking me up. You are hilarious.
Dear Money,
Somehow you always disappear. One moment you’re in my wallet and the next you’re gone! It blows my mind to think that soon I will (hopefully) have a steady income.
Dear Sleep,
I value you more and more each passing day. How do people function with less than eight hours?
Dear Sunsets,
Thanks for being particularly beautiful lately. I appreciate it.
P.s. I got the idea for this post from one of my favorite blogs Love Taza. And these photos are from a few weeks ago when we went out for a friend’s 21st birthday!
