33990076_10211495493364304_2748167324363128832_nHello friends, how are you? I’ve been having fun traipsing around Europe with my little brother and our childhood friend who is conveniently studying abroad in Germany this summer. It feels so nice to be able to let loose completely and be around people who’ve known you your whole life. There’s nothing like it. After I spend time with them, I always stop and think why did that feel so different?

Because being known is everything. It is so important and I’ve missed that feeling a bit this year. You don’t realize how much your body and soul needs to be known until you’re placed in a new environment. I’m so glad to share these summer months with them. Below are a few photos from life lately. Enjoy!33745830_10211495460163474_4496772574990041088_nThe neighborhood of Kreuzberg was my favorite spot in Berlin. So funky. So punk. Have a good one!

IMG_7548Hello friends! How are you? What’s new? My mood is much improved lately because the sunshine has been visiting us here in Germany, which does wonders for a person. I can’t tell you how much I missed it. If you live in a consistently sunny place, don’t take it for granted haha! Below are a few random iPhone photos from life lately. Enjoy 🙂IMG_7561I went to Hildesheim last weekend to visit my friends from the summer I spent there. Above is a part of the University of Hildesheim campus. That place is like a casino- no windows, no natural light so you loose track of time. You could spend a week and all your money in there if you’re not careful!IMG_7646A bought this striped rug and I do not regret it.

Have a good one friends!

IMG_5928Hello there, how are you? These last few weeks have been a whirlwind in the best ways. My parents just left this morning (*insert tears here*) after a wonderful ten days together. It was so nice to show them around my stomping grounds and give context for my life.

Above is a photo from a great breakfast I spent with some new friends in Königstein last week. Arn’t they lovely? And below are a bunch more photos from life lately. Enjoy!IMG_5902One of my favorite students goofing around after a school assembly on cyber safety. I was definitely scared to go on the internet for like two days afterwards…IMG_5925This waffle house takes the cake (or, um, the waffle) because of the beautiful writing on my plate!IMG_5948The family that freezes together, stays together.Processed with VSCO with c1 presetWe spent three days in Rothenburg ob der Tauber, a magical old city from the Middle Ages. IMG_5811Hey friends! How have you been? I for one have been trying to stay dry– it won’t stop raining here in Weinheim, Germany! My parents arrive this weekend, and I’m praying for some nice weather to be able to show them around properly. Below are a few photos from life lately, if you’d like to see. Enjoy!

My “university buddy” Ian and I got way lost the other night trying to find a certain cafe (my fault completely), so we decided to take a desperate SOS photo…send help, there’s a giant hairy man behind me!IMG_5833My friend Ruth visited me this weekend. She is also a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in a nearby town, and we’ve been able to connect a few times this fall. She is just the sweetest, and her outfit was perfectly color coordinated for my “autumn themed photos.”Processed with VSCO with c1 presetIMG_5848IMG_5850IMG_5854Kaffee und Kuchen to warm up.IMG_5859IMG_5864My colleague invited me to her village choir. Here they are singing “California Dreamin” which I found hilarious and also nostalgia inducing. By the end I wanted to stand up and shout I FREAKIN LOVE CALIFORNIA IT REALLY IS A DREAM OMG!IMG_5877IMG_5880IMG_5891I went for a walk in the forest behind my school during a break, and the beauty almost took my breath away…that, and the fact that it was freakin cold as all get out.IMG_5809My eighth graders and I made “American Food” during one lesson. I’m pretty dang proud of this bean dip, if I do say so myself. I hope I did the country proud ;p

Have a good one, friends!

Hey there, how’s it going? I’m off to Texas tomorrow for Spring Break! I hear Fort Worth is the new  Cabo ;p Above are a few random photos from life lately, enjoy!

Little Letter

Processed with VSCO with c1 preset

Dear Fall,
Can’t you visit SoCal, even just for a little? Summer doesn’t seem to want to leave but I’m eagerly awaiting your arrival. My scarves are bored just hanging limp in my closet!

img_9481

Dear Polaroid,
Why do you take such over-exposed pictures sometimes? I’m always disappointed when I wait and wait but you never develop properly. Your film is much too expensive for these games!

Dear Blog,
I love you. I never thought I could grow so attached to a non-existent ‘place’ in cyber space. It’s so fun to look back in time and reflect on all the places I’ve seen and things I’ve experienced over the last three years.

img_9503

Dear Graduation,
I simultaneously can’t wait for you to come and am dreading your arrival. Lots of weird, mixed emotions over here…

Dear Parents,
Thanks for visiting me this week and taking me out to breakfast! I can’t wait to spend the first weekend in November with you in Texas.

img_9509

Dear Coffee,
You sustain me. I don’t know what I’d do with out you sweet, dark one.

Dear “New Girl,”
Season 5 on Netflix is cracking me up. You are hilarious.

img_9516

Dear Money,
Somehow you always disappear. One moment you’re in my wallet and the next you’re gone! It blows my mind to think that soon I will (hopefully) have a steady income.

Dear Sleep,
I value you more and more each passing day. How do people function with less than eight hours?

img_9518
Dear Sunsets,
Thanks for being particularly beautiful lately. I appreciate it.

P.s. I got the idea for this post from one of my favorite blogs Love Taza. And these photos are from a few weeks ago when we went out for a friend’s 21st birthday!

Life Lately

IMG_0534.JPGWell hello there! How are you? I am in shock over the fact that I leave Germany exactly a month from today. Where did the time go? The summer here is in full swing and the temperature is finally rising after a month of rain. I thought I’d share a few photos from life lately if you’d like to see. The one above was taken on a walk downtown near the train station. I love the old-timey quality with the faded colors and people on motorbikes! Reminds me of photos from the 60’s.IMG_6488^Fourteen people were baptized on Sunday! Praise Jesus, the angels are rejoicing. I had never seen so many people commit their lives to Christ on the same day. It was truly a celebration I will never forget.IMG_6534^A friend snapped this photo of me in the garden the other day. Aren’t the wild flowers behind me pretty?IMG_6553.JPG^This photo is so blurry but I love it anyways! The little goofball in the lower right corner is my number one man. He finally learned my name and I was ecstatic!Processed with VSCO with c1 preset^Snapped this photo while chilling by myself in a little cafe. Western Europe does coffee shops right. Bravo.IMG_6309^I helped with children’s face painting at the neighborhood summer festival two weeks ago. No matter what they asked for, it always came out looking like a colorful blob…Processed with VSCO with c1 presetIMG_6224^My lovely internship supervisor and some friends after a christian concert we went to a few weeks ago! And this random biker guy also made an appearance…IMG_0514.JPG^The flower market on Friday is gorgeous here!

Well, I hope you enjoyed this collection of random thoughts and even more random photos. Have a great one friends!
