Be still my heart. I’m overwhelmed by her cuteness. That is all.
Dear Community Group,
I love you and can’t wait to serve at the Hollywood Winter Shelter with you on Saturday. We are preparing a hot breakfast for more than 250 homeless people in Los Angeles, and I’m excited to meet some of them, hear their stories and share a meal.
I think I’m getting better at you. Maybe.
I can’t believe how close we’ve gotten this year. You are such a gem of a friend who just ‘gets me’, no questions asked.
Dear Valentines Day,
Honestly, I almost forgot you even existed. Is that bad? I’ve got to cook up a fun way to show my friends and family I love them!
Gosh it’s hard to wait to hear your results. I won’t find out if I get you until the end of March/beginning of April.
You’re funny, but also really crazy sometimes.
Dear “Bridge of Spies”,
You are a great movie! I loved the setting in East and West Berlin in 1960. Plus, it was kind of cool to translate the German for my friends!
Currently trying to balance staying informed about you with staying sane. Not an easy task!
P.s. Photo of the adorable little angel I babysit (cheeeeeese!)
The kid’s life is the good life. I’m trying to be more childlike (not childish) these days.
Every Tuesday and Wednesday morning, I babysit two little munchkins named Winnie and Piper. Winnie is two and Piper is three, and they continually surprise me with their humor and unending joy for life. Honestly, if you’re feeling down in the dumps, I would suggest spending some time with little kids! They are hilarious. I just want to bottle up their enthusiasm and take it home with me. Below are a few photos from our time together yesterday.Me: What are you doing Winnie?
Winnie: I’m reading this book of course.Me: Winnie can I read that book with you?
Winnie: No, Micah, I don’t think so.Winnie: Can I take pictures of you?
Me: (Hesitantly) Sure…Winnie: Oh my, I need to cook you some food! How about cucumber?Lazarus the cat has a love hate relationship with Winnie, who is ultra affectionate (and sometimes picks him up the wrong way) :pWe headed down to main campus to explore. Always good to get out of the house and have an adventure.Piper: It smells like Christmas!Winnie and Piper climbing on the George Pepperdine statue (the founder of the university)Piper: Why won’t he turn the page of his book?
Me: He’s a statue, he can’t^Probably my favorite photo of the day!Winnie: Look at all the Dori and Nemo fishies!Me: What do you want for Christmas Winnie?
Winnie: PinkWhat’s you favorite thing about Christmas Piper?
Piper: GrandmaHave a great one friends!
