Traveling home from Vienna– My group spent the week in Vienna, Austria! We visited several museums, took a Waltzing class, attended a Mozart Concert, and much more.
Eating Schnitzel– Vienna is famous for its Wienerschnitzel: thinly pounded pork, breaded and served with lemon and raspberry jam.
Drinking Coffee– Vienna is also famous for its coffee. Their signature drink is the Melange- espresso, cream, whipped cream!
Watching New Girl Season 4– When I have time, I like to relax to an episode of this hilarious show!
Talking about future travel plans– I am currently in the midst of planning a trip to Croatia for the end of the month.
Reading the book “7″ by Jen Hatmaker– I struggle to find time to read here, but this book has completely captivated me! It is about one woman’s attempt to simplify seven areas in her life to allow God more room to move.
Wearing Boots, Scarves, and sweaters- The weather is very hard to dress for these days, as sometimes it is cold, windy or rainy, and other times it is sunny and warm. I generally wear warmer layers and shed them as the day progresses.
Enjoying Fall- The leaves on the tree outside my window are bright orange!
Praying for Peace and Confidence- My prayer right now is for peace of mind and confidence in my abilities.
Appreciating my family- You know the saying, “You never know a good thing till it’s gone”? I miss my family and my house now that they are on the other side of the world!
Painting Watercolor- I finally picked up my paintbrush again and painted a few watercolors of Heidelberg. It was cathartic!
Indulging on Gelato- I eat way too much Gelato…enough said.
Disliking the exhaustive pace of life abroad- The pace here is lightning fast, and sometimes it is hard to keep up. I have a hard time finding balance between socializing and resting.
Struggling to get enough sleep– Eight hours is a privilege, not a right in Moore Haus!
Feeling excited about summer 2015– You are probably asking how I can think about the future when the present is so wonderful?! Well, I am looking at some incredible options for next summer. Nothing is set in stone, but I think will have something to look forward to when I fly home in April.
Following these blogs religiously: unlockingkiki.com, abeautifulmess.com, designmom.com. As a blogger myself, it is important to read other blogs for inspiration and insight.
Writing this blog- Writing has always been a passion of mine, and this space is the perfect venue to sharpen my skills.
Wishing my cold would beat it- I caught a cold (see previous points for the reason!) and have not been able to shake it for about a week. It is no fun to be sick abroad.
Counting down the days til my mom’s home cooking this winter break- I can’t believe I will be home in less than two months. Time sure does fly when you are having fun! Sometimes I dream about my mom’s lasagna salad and peanut butter blossom cookies…
Loving 1 Peter 3:3- “Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. 4 Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.”
