Red Rock Canyon

ImageImageImageImageImageMy class took a field trip to Red Rock Canyon today, which is in the Mojave Desert. We observed the ancient lava flows, sedimentary, metamorphic and igneous rock. Believe it or not, those words actually mean something to me now! It was hot and windy, but we still enjoyed climbing around the formations and up to the top of a mountain that overlooks the canyon/valley. It is a long drive out, but I definitely recommend it! Every year I am reminded of how diversely beautiful California is, and how lucky I am to live here.
