Pepperdine requires students to attend 14 chapel services a semester. Today was the first, and a woman named Krysta Masciale spoke on her life and career. She is the founder and CEO of Big Deal Branding, a creative marketing company. She grew up in a low income home in Ohio, and shares her tough journey to where she is today. She reminded me that women don’t have to act like me to be successful. They can be their wonderful, feminine selves and still conquer the world. She also redefines the stereotype of a Christian woman. What does it mean to be a Christian woman, a wife, and a business woman? She runs a blog called “Stilettos on the Rocks” and I believe it will be incredibly insightful and useful as I head into my college and post-college years. I don’t think Krysta will ever see this post, but if she does, I hope she knows I am thankful for her story.
